Product Overview

【 Principle 】

Sodium thioglycolate provides a reducing environment, maintains a low redox potential, and protects anaerobic/microaerophilic bacteria; Sodium dihydrogen phosphate acts as a buffering agent to stabilize the pH value; Sodium chloride maintains equilibrium osmotic pressure; Calcium chloride provides inorganic ions to assist in maintaining the physiological environment; Agar is a coagulant.

Main components

Composed of sodium thioglycolate, sodium chloride, calcium chloride, disodium hydrogen phosphate, agar, and distilled water.

Storage conditions and expiration date

Storage conditions: This product should be stored in a dark environment at 2-25 ℃.

Validity period: The unopened original packaging has a validity period of 3 months.

This product is a disposable product.

Application Scenarios

Transport of intestinal pathogenic bacteria specimens: preservation and transportation of Salmonella, Shigella, and Vibrio cholerae in feces and anal swabs, delaying bacterial decay.

Submission of Campylobacter specimens for testing: Microaerobic bacteria such as Campylobacter jejuni are transported at room temperature and rely on a reducing environment to resist oxygen damage.

Foodborne traceability sampling and transportation: After the pathogenic bacteria on the food contact surface and food ingredient surface are washed out, transportation is carried out to ensure subsequent separation and detection.

Clinical specimen transportation for acute diarrhea: Outpatient diarrhea specimens are sent for long-distance testing, without nutritional proliferation, to avoid excessive growth of miscellaneous bacteria that may interfere with identification.

Port and disease control intestinal pathogen monitoring: epidemiological batch screening sample transportation, suitable for short and medium distance transportation at room temperature.

Traceability sampling of nosocomial intestinal infections: Sampling and transportation of pathogenic bacteria on the surface of the ward environment and accompanying items to assist in tracing the source of infection.
