Clinical application scenarios

Sample dilution: As a diluent, prepare a homogeneous sample and adjust the osmotic pressure.

Pre bacterial revival: repairing damaged microorganisms and improving the detection rate of pathogenic bacteria.

Microbial enrichment culture: used for pre cultivation of Enterobacteriaceae bacteria such as Salmonella.

Sample transportation: Maintaining microbial activity, suitable for short-term storage and transportation of test samples.

Neutralization buffer: Buffer the acidity, alkalinity, and residual disinfectants in the sample to eliminate antibacterial effects.

Introduction to the Relevant Microbiological Characteristics

Salmonella

Gram negative bacteria, without spores, mostly with flagella, capable of movement; Facultative anaerobic, rapidly proliferates in BPW, and the liquid becomes uniformly turbid after cultivation; Resistant to mild environmental damage, can complete bacterial repair here; Fermentation of glucose produces acid and gas, without fermentation of lactose and sucrose. The hydrogen sulfide test is mostly positive.

Escherichia coli

Gram negative short rod-shaped bacteria, with flagella, active movement, and some have capsules; Rapid reproduction rate, significant turbidity in liquid culture; Strong adaptability and tolerance to conventional sample environments; Fermentation of lactose and glucose, acid and gas production, typical IMViC test (++--).

Cronobacter (Enterobacter sakazakii)

Gram negative bacteria with flagella and no spores; Can tolerate stress environments such as dryness and low temperature, and can recover and grow well in BPW; Fermentation of various sugars, some strains produce yellow pigments.

Shigella genus

Gram negative Bacillus subtilis, lacking flagella, motility, and spores; Facultative anaerobic, with mild growth and uniform turbid liquid; Fermentation of glucose produces acid but not gas, and does not ferment lactose.
