Product Overview

【 Principle 】

Tryptone provides nitrogen source, amino acids, and growth factors; Lactose is the exclusive fermentation substrate used for screening strains capable of fermenting lactose; Sodium laurel sulfate can inhibit various bacteria such as Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, and Bacillus; Sodium chloride maintains an isotonic environment; Potassium dihydrogen phosphate+potassium dihydrogen phosphate buffer can stabilize pH and ensure normal metabolism of bacterial cells.

Main components

Composed of tryptone, sodium chloride, lactose, dipotassium hydrogen phosphate, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, sodium lauroyl sulfate, and distilled water.

Storage conditions and expiration date

Storage conditions: This product should be stored in a dark environment at 2-8 ℃.

Validity period: The unopened original packaging has a validity period of 6 months.

This product is a disposable product.

Clinical application scenarios

Selective enrichment of coliform bacteria, used for initial screening and cultivation of coliform bacteria in water samples, food, and environmental specimens.

Inhibit the growth of miscellaneous bacteria, block interference from Gram positive bacteria and some non target Gram negative bacteria, and improve detection accuracy.

Preliminary gas production judgment, quickly make a positive initial judgment of coliform bacteria through the phenomenon of gas production in reverse pipes.

Microbial limit testing is applied to the inspection of hygiene indicators such as food, drinking water, and daily chemical products.

Pre treatment of bacterial quantification, combined with standard methods to complete the pre culture steps for coliform bacterial counting.

Introduction to the Relevant Microbiological Characteristics

Escherichia coli

Gram negative short rods, mostly with flagella, motile, and no spores; Facultative anaerobic, fast reproduction, uniform turbidity of liquid, fermentation of lactose to produce acid and gas, visible bubbles in the inverted tube; Lactose can be utilized and is tolerant to cinnamyl sulfate, making it a typical representative of the Escherichia coli community.

Enterobacter aerogenes

Gram negative crude short rod-shaped bacteria, with flagella, active movement, and no spores; Facultative anaerobic, vigorous growth, significant gas production from lactose fermentation; Strong lactose fermentation ability and resistance to antibacterial components in this culture medium.

Enterobacter cloacae

Gram negative bacteria with flagella and no spores; Facultative anaerobic, grows well, can ferment lactose to produce gas; Biochemical reactions are active and belong to the typical group of Escherichia coli.
