Product Usage:For dilution and non-selective enrichment culture of Enterobacteriaceae in food
Product Overview

【 Principle 】

Peptone provides carbon and nitrogen sources; Sodium chloride maintains a balanced osmotic pressure; A higher pH is beneficial for inhibiting the growth of Escherichia coli and other miscellaneous bacteria, as well as for the growth of Vibrio cholerae.

Main components

Composed of peptone, sodium chloride, and distilled water.

Storage conditions and expiration date

Storage conditions: This product should be stored in a dark environment at 2-25 ℃.

Validity period: The unopened original packaging has a validity period of 6 months.

This product is a disposable product.

[Sample Requirements]

Samples such as feces and vomit from the human body.

Clinical application scenarios

Selective enrichment of Vibrio cholerae: Pre enrichment medium for Vibrio cholerae and Vibrio parahaemolyticus in aquatic products, vomit, and fecal specimens.

Inhibiting interference from miscellaneous bacteria: Relying on high pH to suppress intestinal miscellaneous bacteria such as coliforms and gram-positive bacteria, and improve the detection rate of Vibrio.

Infectious disease screening and testing: Initial screening of fecal and vomit samples from suspected cholera cases for bacterial enrichment, used for laboratory diagnosis of highly infectious intestinal diseases.

Food hygiene inspection: Standard pre-treatment solution for pathogenic Vibrio in seawater products and seafood raw materials.

Environmental sample monitoring: Vibrio enrichment culture in seawater, aquaculture water bodies, and seafood processing countertop smear samples.

Introduction to the Relevant Microbiological Characteristics

Vibrio cholerae (O1/O139 group)

Gram negative curved rod-shaped bacteria, with a single ended single flagellum, extremely active in movement, and shuttle like; No spores, no capsule; Alkaline, highly tolerant to pH 8.4 alkaline environment, rapidly proliferates at 36 ℃, and forms a thin film on the surface of the culture medium; Not acid resistant, growth is inhibited in neutral/acidic environments; Oxidase positive, fermenting glucose and sucrose, not fermenting arabinose; Alkali resistance is the core characteristic.

Vibrio parahaemolyticus

Gram negative arc-shaped, rod-shaped, with a single flagellum at one end, active in movement; No spores; Alkaline and halophilic, alkaline peptone water can revive proliferation; Poor growth in low salt environments; Oxidase positive, fermenting glucose, not fermenting sucrose, some strains are heat-resistant and hemolytic.
