Product Overview

【 Principle 】

Pancreatic casein peptone and yeast extract powder: provide amino acids, peptides, vitamins, growth factors, and other nitrogen sources to meet the growth needs of various heterotrophic bacteria; Glucose provides a carbon source; Sodium thiosulfate+sodium bisulfite neutralizes chlorine containing disinfectants and iodine preparations, reduces free halogens, and eliminates oxidative antibacterial effects; Phosphatidylcholine and Tween-80 synergistically neutralize quaternary ammonium salts, phenols, and alcohol disinfectants, breaking the binding between disinfectants and bacterial cell membranes and relieving antibacterial effects; Sodium mercaptoacetate neutralizes aldehyde disinfectants, and the combination of multiple neutralizers can comprehensively eliminate various disinfection residues and prevent false negatives in testing.

Main components

Composed of pancreatic casein peptone, glucose, yeast extract, sodium bisulfite, sodium thiosulfate, sodium mercaptoacetate, lecithin, Tween-80, bromocresol violet, and distilled water.

Clinical application scenarios

D/E neutralizing broth can neutralize various residual disinfectants, repair damaged bacteria, and is used for medical equipment, environment, catering, and water sampling and testing,

Aseptic testing of medical consumables, validation of disinfection product efficacy, and traceability of nosocomial infections to prevent false negatives in testing.

Introduction to the Relevant Microbiological Characteristics

Escherichia coli

Gram negative short rod-shaped bacteria with flagella, motile, non spore forming, facultative anaerobic; Environmental, food, and medical device indicator bacteria are highly susceptible to damage from quaternary ammonium salts and chlorine containing disinfectants. The D/E system can thoroughly neutralize residual antibacterial substances, repair sublethal damage, and the broth becomes uniformly turbid after cultivation.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Gram negative single ended flagellar bacteria, obligate aerobic; Common pathogenic bacteria in wounds and disinfection equipment can tolerate low concentration disinfectants but become inactive after high concentration disinfection. They rely on phospholipids and sodium thiosulfate to restore their activity, and thin bacterial films often form on the liquid surface.

Staphylococcus aureus, Staphylococcus epidermidis

Gram positive Staphylococcus aureus, non spore forming, facultative anaerobic; Skin and medical device surface dominant bacteria, alcohols, and quaternary ammonium salts can easily cause bacterial damage, while meat broth nutrition combined with neutralizing agents can effectively revive and withstand basic osmotic pressure environments.

Hemolytic streptococcus, enterococcus

Gram positive Streptococcus, non spore forming, facultative anaerobic; The vitality of bacteria contaminated by wounds and water sources significantly decreases after disinfection, and the D/E broth buffering nutrient system supports their slow recovery and growth.
