【 Principle of Inspection 】
Peptone provides nitrogen, vitamins, amino acids, and carbon sources; Glucose provides a carbon source and the main energy substance; Agar is a coagulant for culture media.
Main components
Composed of peptone, glucose, and agar.
Storage conditions and expiration date
Storage conditions: This product should be stored in a dark environment at 2-8 ℃.
Validity period: The unopened original packaging has a validity period of 6 months.
This product is a disposable product.
Clinical specimen fungal detection: fungal and yeast isolation and culture are performed on sputum, wound secretions, dandruff, urine and other specimens to assist in the diagnosis of superficial and deep fungal infections.
Internal environmental monitoring: Sampling of diagnosis and treatment areas, object surfaces, and air to screen for fungal contamination and prevent cross infection of fungal species within the hospital.
Medical item inspection: detecting fungal contamination of samples such as reusable medical devices, dressings, sterile preparations, and experimental water.
Fungal counting and identification: Complete quantitative counting of fungal samples and conduct preliminary strain identification based on colony and microscopic morphology.
Validation of disinfection effect: detect the survival of fungi and spores before and after disinfection and sterilization treatment, and evaluate the effectiveness of disinfection and sterilization measures.
Aspergillus genus (Aspergillus niger, Aspergillus flavus, Aspergillus fumigatus)
Mycelium has transverse septa; The conidiophores stand upright, with their tips expanding into apical sacs, forming characteristic conidiophores. Specialized aerobic, weak acid resistant, strong growth ability, and stable reproduction; Some strains of bacteria can produce fungal toxins. Aspergillus fumigatus can cause respiratory and invasive fungal infections in the human body.
Penicillium genus
The hyphae have transverse septa, and the conidiophores have typical broom shaped branches, with conidia arranged in clusters. Specially aerobic, resistant to weak acids, highly adaptable to the environment, and thriving in growth. Mostly distributed in the air, packaging materials, and damp surfaces, most of them are environmental microorganisms, and a few can cause superficial fungal infections in the human body.
Mucor and Rhizopus genera
The mycelium is thick and lacks transverse septa. Rhizopus has creeping hyphae and false roots, both of which produce sporangia. Specializes in aerobic conditions, prefers humid and weakly acidic environments, and the mycelium spreads rapidly. Commonly found in areas with stagnant water, damp equipment, and water containing excipients, individuals with weakened immune systems are prone to invasive mucormycosis.
Candida genus (Candida albicans, Candida tropical, Candida smooth)
The bacterial cells are round or oval in shape and positive for Gram staining; After cultivation, false hyphae and thick walled spores can be formed. Facultative anaerobic, with a wide temperature adaptation range and resistance to weak acids. Belonging to the normal flora of human skin and mucous membranes, it is a typical opportunistic pathogen that can cause fungal infections in the skin, mucous membranes, and deep parts of the body. It is also a common fungal contamination bacterium in medical devices and sterile products.
Red yeast
Ovary shaped single cells generally do not form pseudohyphae, and the colony appears red/orange red. Specialized aerobic, weak acid resistant, and saprophytic bacteria. It often remains in the water film on the inner wall of containers and pipelines, with weak pathogenicity, mainly serving as an indicator of fungal contamination.
