Product Overview

【 Principle of Inspection 】

Peptone and beef powder provide nitrogen, vitamins, amino acids, and carbon sources, while sodium chloride can maintain a balanced osmotic pressure. Agar is the coagulant of the culture medium.

Main components

Composed of tryptone, beef extract powder, sodium chloride, and agar.

Storage conditions and expiration date

Storage conditions: This product should be stored in a dark environment at 2-8 ℃.

Validity period: The unopened original packaging has a validity period of 6 months.

This product is a disposable product.

Clinical application scenarios

Environmental monitoring: Sampling and counting of surface and airborne bacteria in wards, operating rooms, diagnosis and treatment areas, and other areas to assess the level of environmental hygiene.

Disinfection effect verification: Check the number of bacterial colonies before and after disinfection, evaluate the actual effectiveness of cleaning methods and disinfectants.

Equipment contamination testing: Screening for microorganisms on the surface of reused diagnostic and therapeutic equipment and medical devices to reduce the risk of cross infection.

Bacterial isolation and culture: used for the primary isolation, purification, and passage of common bacteria in clinical specimens and environmental samples.

Traceability investigation of nosocomial infections: When clustered infections occur, sample and test the environment and items to trace the source of contamination.

Normalized sampling inspection: Conduct regular sampling and testing according to standards to complete daily control of hospital hygiene quality.

Introduction to the Relevant Microbiological Characteristics

Staphylococcus genus (Staphylococcus epidermidis, Staphylococcus aureus)

Gram positive cocci, mostly facultative anaerobic; Resistant to dryness and able to survive on dry surfaces for a long time; Staphylococcus epidermidis is a resident bacterium on human skin, while Staphylococcus aureus is a common opportunistic pathogen.

Streptococcus

Gram positive cocci, facultative anaerobic; No special stress resistant structure, weak tolerance to drying and physicochemical factors.

Bacillus genus (Bacillus subtilis, Bacillus cereus)

Gram positive aerobic bacteria can form spores; Spores have strong resistance to dry and conventional physical and chemical factors, outstanding environmental survival ability, and are typical resident bacteria in the environment.

Corynebacterium (Corynebacterium diphtheriae)

Gram positive bacteria, facultative anaerobic; Belonging to the normal microbiota of human skin, with weak adhesion and overall low resistance.

Enterobacteriaceae (Escherichia coli, Klebsiella, Proteobacteria, etc.)

Gram negative bacteria, facultative anaerobic; Not resistant to dryness, easily deactivated in dry environments, can rapidly reproduce under humid conditions, and is mostly a opportunistic pathogen.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Gram negative obligate aerobic bacteria; Prefers humid environments, has strong bacterial adhesion, can tolerate humid environments and mild chemical stimuli, and is a key monitored strain for nosocomial infections.
