Product Overview

【 Principle 】

Tryptone and soy peptone provide carbon and nitrogen sources, as well as vitamins; Sodium chloride maintains a balanced osmotic pressure; Fiber free sheep blood provides abundant nutrients; Agar is a coagulant for culture media.

Main components

Composed of tryptone, soy peptone, sodium chloride, defatted sheep blood, agar, and distilled water.

Storage conditions: This product should be stored in a dark environment at 2-8 ℃.

Validity period: The unopened original packaging has a validity period of 3 months.

This product is a disposable product.

[Sample Requirements]

Samples such as sputum and blood from the human body.

Clinical application scenarios

Routine bacterial isolation and culture of clinical specimens: primary culture of specimens such as sputum, pus, blood, wound secretions, throat swabs, etc., taking into account both common bacteria and nutritionally demanding pathogenic bacteria.

Hemolysis test identification of bacterial strains: Based on the alpha, beta, and gamma hemolytic rings, Streptococcus, Listeria, etc. are distinguished to achieve preliminary bacterial strain identification.

Screening for pathogenic bacteria caused by harsh cultivation: Cultivate strains of Streptococcus pneumoniae, Streptococcus pyogenes, Neisseria, Haemophilus, Corynebacterium diphtheriae, and other bacteria that are difficult to grow on regular agar.

Bacterial purification and strain preservation: Separate and obtain single colonies for strain propagation, purification, and short-term preservation.

Purification before auxiliary drug susceptibility testing: Obtain pure cultured bacterial colonies to provide test strains for subsequent bacterial susceptibility testing.

Mixed infection detection of wounds and soft tissues: Distinguishing pathogenic bacteria from normal colonized miscellaneous bacteria to assist in determining the pathogen of infection.

Introduction to the Relevant Microbiological Characteristics

Staphylococcus: G+facultative anaerobic cocci, resistant to dryness; The colony is round and raised, milky white/golden yellow, and does not undergo hemolysis or gamma hemolysis.

Streptococcus (Group A β hemolytic, Streptococcus pneumoniae): G+facultative anaerobic cocci with high nutritional requirements; The colony is small and translucent, with visible beta transparent hemolytic rings/alpha grass green hemolytic rings.

Bacillus: G+aerobic Bacillus, strong stress resistance; The colony is coarse and rough, gray white, with some hemolysis.

Hemophilus: G-Globobacter, dependent on X and V factors; Microscopic transparent satellite colonies.

Neisseria: G+Streptococcus, harsh cultivation; Microscopic dewdrop like transparent bacterial colonies without hemolysis.
