【 Principle of Inspection 】
Protein peptone, yeast extract, and beef extract provide amino acids, vitamins, and growth factors; Lactose is a fermentable sugar; Potassium dihydrogen phosphate buffer salt stabilizes the pH of the culture medium; anhydrous sodium sulfite acts as a reducing substance, reducing the oxidation potential while inhibiting the growth of Gram positive cocci and Bacillus; Alkaline fuchsin is an acid-base indicator; Agar is a coagulant for culture media.
Main components
Composed of peptone, yeast extract, beef extract, lactose, agar, dipotassium dihydrogen phosphate 0, anhydrous sodium sulfite, and 5% alkaline fuchsin ethanol solution.

Storage conditions: This product should be stored in a dark environment at 2-8 ℃.
Validity period: The unopened original packaging has a validity period of 6 months.
This product is a disposable product.
Quantitative detection of coliform bacteria in water bodies: screening coliform bacteria in drinking water, sewage, and hospital cleaning water to determine the degree of fecal contamination.
Microbial limit testing for food: isolation and counting of coliforms from various food and catering ingredients to evaluate food hygiene and safety.
Hospital infection environmental hygiene monitoring: Sampling of hospital countertops, instrument cleaning solutions, and hand sinks to detect intestinal indicator bacteria and control the risk of cross infection.
Preliminary screening of intestinal bacteria in fecal samples: Distinguishing between coliforms and lactose negative intestinal pathogens such as Salmonella and Shigella, assisting in the screening of diarrhea causes.
Microbial examination of drugs and dialysis water: Counting of coliforms in preparations, medical pure water, and dialysis fluid to ensure the safety of medical fluids.
Isolation and purification of contaminated sample strains: Screening of typical red coliform bacterial colonies for subsequent biochemical identification and traceability analysis.
Escherichia coli
G ⁻ facultative anaerobic bacteria, intestinal resident bacteria, common pathogenic bacteria for urinary tract infections and diarrhea, strong fermentation of lactose to produce a large amount of acid; The colony is dark red with a green metallic luster, round and moist protrusions.
Klebsiella pneumoniae, gas producing Escherichia coli
G ⁻ facultative anaerobic bacteria, opportunistic pathogenic bacteria, with low acid production during lactose fermentation; The colony is pink/red, large, viscous, and lacks metallic luster.
Shigella and Salmonella: G ⁻ facultative anaerobic pathogenic bacteria that do not utilize lactose, causing bacterial dysentery and food poisoning; The colony is colorless, semi transparent, medium-sized, smooth and flat.
Proteus: G ⁻ facultative anaerobic, with migratory and diffusive characteristics, does not ferment lactose; The colony is colorless and thin film like, easily spreading into patches.
