Product Overview

【 Principle 】

Tryptone provides carbon and nitrogen sources to meet the needs of bacterial growth; Sodium chloride maintains a balanced osmotic pressure; Lactose is a fermentable sugar in the Escherichia coli community; Potassium dihydrogen phosphate and dipotassium dihydrogen phosphate are buffering agents; Sodium laurel sulfate can inhibit the growth of non coliform bacteria.

Main components

Composed of tryptone, sodium chloride, lactose, potassium dihydrogen phosphate, dipotassium dihydrogen phosphate, and sodium metabisulfate.

Clinical application scenarios

Preliminary screening of coliform bacteria in water samples: detecting coliform bacteria in various water samples to determine the degree of fecal pollution in water bodies.

Food national standard testing: Conduct initial fermentation screening of coliforms in dairy products, meat products, and other food and tableware according to national standards.

Drug and cosmetics inspection: Initial screening of coliform bacteria in samples of oral medications, skincare products, etc. to ensure microbial safety of the products.

Medical environmental monitoring: Screening equipment, countertops, and other environmental coliform contamination to assist in hospital infection risk assessment.

Disinfection effect verification: After disinfection test, the residual coliform group is determined by adding bacteria, and the effectiveness of sterilization is evaluated.

Laboratory quality control: used for standard strain cultivation, medium validation, and negative control, to complete the confirmation process.

Screening of agricultural raw materials: detecting surface coliforms in fruits, vegetables, food packaging, etc., to control source contamination.

Introduction to the Relevant Microbiological Characteristics

Escherichia coli

Facultative anaerobic gram-negative short rod-shaped bacteria; Intestinal resident bacteria, indicator bacteria for fecal contamination; Resistant to lauryl sulfate; β - galactosidase positive, fermenting lactose to produce acid and gas; Partial pathogenicity; Cultivate at 36 ℃ for 24-48 hours, and the broth becomes significantly turbid, with Du's small bubbles/a large amount of gas filling the small tubes; The culture medium turns yellow (producing acid).

Klebsiella genus (Klebsiella pneumoniae, Klebsiella acid producing)

Gram negative crude short rod bacteria, with capsules, facultative anaerobic; Widely present in water bodies, environments, and hospital equipment; Resistant to surfactants, strong lactose fermentation, high gas production; Conditional pathogenic bacteria; LST cultivation, severe turbidity, acid production turning yellow, extremely rich gas production, and the Du's tubules are often completely filled with gas.

Fructobacter freundii

Gram negative bacteria, facultative anaerobic; Common soil, sewage, and food; Delayed fermentation of lactose, some strains only produce gas after 48 hours; The characteristics of LST cultivation are that it may only be turbid and airless after 24 hours, and produce acid and a small amount of bubbles after 48 hours.
