Product Overview

【 Principle 】

Tryptone and yeast extract provide nitrogen sources and trace elements; Mannitol is a fermentable carbon source; Sodium deoxycholate and crystal violet inhibit Gram positive bacteria; Neutral red is a pH indicator; Agar is a coagulant for culture media.

Main components

Composed of tryptone, yeast extract, mannitol, sodium chloride, sodium deoxycholate, crystal violet, magnesium sulfate, neutral red, agar, cephalosporin, neomycin, strontium chloride, and distilled water.

Storage conditions and expiration date

Storage conditions: This product should be stored in a dark environment at 2-8 ℃.

Validity period: The unopened original packaging has a validity period of 3 months.

This product is a disposable product.

Clinical application scenarios

Isolation of Yersinia pestis from fecal samples: used for fecal culture of patients with abdominal pain, diarrhea, and suspected mesenteric lymphadenitis to identify characteristic "bovine eye" colonies.

After cold inoculation, isolation was carried out: improved PBS was used to inoculate CIN-1 after cold inoculation at 4 ℃, enriching low load damaged Yersinia pestis and reducing the missed detection rate.

Food poisoning screening and tracing: Detecting refrigerated meat products, dairy products, drinking water, and vomit to complete the epidemiological tracing of collective diarrhea events.

Distinguish other intestinal pathogenic bacteria: Quickly distinguish Salmonella, Shigella, Escherichia coli and other miscellaneous bacteria through the colony morphology of the red center and transparent halo.

Outpatient batch high-throughput screening: During the high incidence period of autumn and winter or refrigerated food infections, a large number of fecal samples are cultured at 25 ℃ for initial screening, suitable for routine infection screening.

Identification of environmental and clinical strains: Suspected strains are isolated from meat and water sources, and pathogenicity is predicted based on colony characteristics to assess pollution risks.

Assisted identification of Yersinia genus: Simultaneously distinguish between Yersinia pseudotuberculosis and Yersinia intermediate, and complete precise identification with biochemical analysis.

Introduction to the Relevant Microbiological Characteristics

Yersinia enterocolitis

Biological characteristics: Gram negative short ball bacillus, both ends heavily stained, facultative anaerobic; At 25 ℃, there is a positive flagellar motility throughout the body, while at 37 ℃, there is no flagellar motility, which is a characteristic feature for identification; Cold loving bacteria can proliferate at 0-4 ℃; Fermented mannitol, mostly positive for urease, does not ferment lactose; Foodborne pathogens contaminate refrigerated meat, milk, and water sources; Clinically causing abdominal pain, diarrhea, mesenteric lymphadenitis, and easy misdiagnosis of appendicitis; Resistant to mild bile salts, tolerant to CIN-1 low concentration antibacterial agents, and able to grow normally.

Cultivation characteristics: Cultivate at 25 ℃ for 24-48 hours; Colony diameter 1-2mm, smooth, raised, center dark red/rose red; The colony is surrounded by a clear, colorless, and transparent precipitation ring (typical bovine eye shape); The texture is moist, the edges are neat, and there is no spreading or diffusion.
