Product Overview

【 Principle 】

Tryptone and plant peptone provide sources of ammonia, vitamins, and growth factors; Glucose provides a carbon source; Potassium dihydrogen phosphate as a buffering agent; Sodium chloride maintains a balanced osmotic pressure; Polymyxin B and naphthonic acid can inhibit the growth of miscellaneous bacteria.

Main components

Composed of tryptone, soy peptone, dipotassium dihydrogen phosphate, sodium chloride, polymyxin B, naphthonic acid, and distilled water.

Storage conditions and expiration date

Storage conditions: This product should be stored in a dark environment at 2-8 ℃.

Validity period: The unopened original packaging has a validity period of 3 months.

This product is a disposable product.

Clinical application scenarios

Selective enrichment of Escherichia coli O157: Adding neomycin and bile salts to inhibit miscellaneous bacteria, enriching EHEC O157: H7 in food, and improving detection rate.

Selective enrichment of hemolytic streptococcus: adding polymyxin B and nalidixic acid for the enrichment of β - hemolytic streptococcus in food.

Disinfection verification and basic bacterial enhancement: Rich in nutrients, it can be used as a universal bacterial enhancement solution without adding antibacterial agents, for disinfection effect testing and bacterial enhancement of Staphylococcus aureus and other bacteria.

Introduction to the Relevant Microbiological Characteristics

β - hemolytic streptococcus

Biological characteristics: Staphylococcus aureus, arranged in chains, without spores or flagella, mostly without motility; Producing hemolysin, the blood plate shows complete beta hemolysis, causing pharyngitis, scarlet fever, sepsis, etc; Facultative anaerobic, high nutritional requirements, sensitive to neomycin; Enzyme negative, does not ferment mannitol, decomposes glucose to produce acid without producing gas.

MTSB culture characteristics (36 ℃, 18-24h): mild and uniform milky white turbidity, with fine white sediment at the bottom of the tube after standing; No pigment, no gas production, no black sediment; There is no hemolysis phenomenon in the liquid.
