Product Overview

【 Principle 】

Casein peptone and soy peptone provide the nitrogen source, vitamins, and growth factors required for bacterial growth; Sodium chloride maintains equilibrium osmotic pressure; Glucose is a fermentable sugar; Potassium dihydrogen phosphate as a buffering agent; Phospholipids and Tween 80 can neutralize preservatives and disperse substances in emulsions. Phospholipids can neutralize quaternary ammonium salts and hydroxybenzoate esters, while Tween 80 can neutralize benzoic acid, hexachlorophenol, and formalin. The combination of the two can neutralize ethanol and chlorpheniramine.

Main components

Composed of casein peptone, soy peptone, glucose, sodium chloride, dipotassium hydrogen phosphate, lecithin, Tween 80, and distilled water.

Storage conditions and expiration date

Storage conditions: This product should be stored in a dark environment at 2-8 ℃.

Validity period: The unopened original packaging has a validity period of 3 months.

This product is a disposable product.

Clinical application scenarios

Cosmetic sample processing and bacterial enrichment: According to the "Technical Specification for Safety of Cosmetics", it is used for the processing of hydrophobic cosmetic samples and bacterial enrichment cultivation.

Microbial testing of hygiene products: used for bacterial enrichment cultivation of disposable hygiene products.

Neutralizing preservatives and antibacterial ingredients: Using lecithin and Tween 80 to neutralize quaternary ammonium salts, phenols, formaldehyde, ethanol and other preservatives in the sample, improving the detection rate of bacteria.

Screening for pathogenic bacteria in cosmetics: used as a bacterial enhancement solution for the detection of Staphylococcus aureus, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, and Burkholderia cepacia in cosmetics.

Selective enrichment (adding polymyxin B): After adding polymyxin B, it can be used for selective enrichment culture of Burkholderia cepacia in cosmetics

Introduction to the Relevant Microbiological Characteristics

Staphylococcus aureus

Gram positive Staphylococcus aureus, touch enzyme positive, facultative anaerobic; Commonly found on the skin, cosmetics contamination can cause folliculitis and skin infections. Cultivate at 30-35 ℃ for 18-72 hours, with moderate turbidity, a thick milky white precipitate at the bottom, and a relatively clear upper layer of liquid.

Pseudomonas aeruginosa

Gram negative Lactobacillus, single ended flagella, motile, aerobic; Moisturizing and contaminating skincare products can easily lead to eye and skin wound infections. Cultivate at 30-35 ℃ for 18-72 hours, and the liquid will be uniformly turbid. Pseudomonas aeruginosa can produce green water-soluble pigments, and the culture medium will be light green; There is a small amount of gray white sediment at the bottom of the pipe.

Escherichia coli

Gram negative Bacillus subtilis, facultative anaerobic; Fecal contamination indicator bacteria, indicating that the hygiene of raw materials and production environment is not up to standard. Cultivate at 30-35 ℃ for 18-72 hours, and the liquid will be uniformly turbid.

Candida albicans

Oval Gram positive yeast like fungi can form pseudohyphae; Conditional pathogenicity can easily lead to fungal infections of the skin and mucous membranes. Cultivate at 30-35 ℃ for 18-72 hours, the liquid is slightly turbid, with white and delicate yeast sediment at the bottom.
