【 Principle 】
Peptone and beef extract are used as basic nutrients to provide carbon, ammonia, and other nutrients needed for bacterial growth; Sodium chloride maintains osmotic pressure balance in the culture medium system; Hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide can selectively inhibit the growth of other non Pseudomonas aeruginosa bacteria; Agar is used as a coagulant.
Main components
Composed of peptone, beef extract, sodium chloride, hexadecyltrimethylammonium bromide, agar, and distilled water.
Storage conditions and expiration date
Storage conditions: This product should be stored in a dark environment at 2-8 ℃.
Validity period: The unopened original packaging has a validity period of 3 months.
This product is a disposable product.
Microbial limit testing of drugs: Used for selective isolation and cultivation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in drugs, it is an important link in drug quality control.
Cosmetics hygiene inspection: According to the "Technical Specification for Safety of Cosmetics", it is used for selective isolation and cultivation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in cosmetics samples to evaluate product hygiene and safety.
Clinical specimen pathogen detection: used for selective isolation of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in clinical specimens such as urine and wound secretions, to assist in the diagnosis of clinical infections.
Water quality and environmental monitoring: used for the isolation and counting of Pseudomonas aeruginosa in drinking water, food processing water, and environmental water samples, to evaluate water quality and environmental microbial contamination.
Other Gram negative non fermenting bacteria assisted isolation: In addition to Pseudomonas aeruginosa, this medium can also be used for selective isolation and cultivation of other Gram negative non fermenting bacteria
Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Biological characteristics
G ⁻ straight or curved rod-shaped bacteria, single ended flagella, motile, non spore and non capsule, obligate aerobic; Tolerant to low concentrations of CTAB, Staphylococcus, Bacillus, and Escherichia coli are inhibited; Produce water-soluble pyocyanin to make agar yellow green in color; Oxidase+, utilizing citrate.
Conditional pathogenic bacteria are widely present in humid environments, cosmetics, and water sources, and can cause skin and wound infections.
CTAB agar culture characteristics (30-35 ℃, 24-48 hours)
Typical colonies are medium-sized, round and flat, with irregular edges. The colonies are surrounded by a yellow green/emerald green color, and some have a ginger aroma; Staphylococcus, large intestine, and other bacteria are strongly inhibited, and almost no bacterial colonies grow.
