Clinical application scenarios

Clinical specimen bacterial screening: direct smear staining of sputum, urine, pus and other specimens to quickly distinguish Gram positive/negative bacteria and provide preliminary direction for infection diagnosis.

Guidance on empirical medication: Staining results can be reported within a few hours, helping doctors to preliminarily select targeted antibiotics before the drug sensitivity results are available.

Auxiliary diagnosis of infectious diseases: if G ⁻ diplococcus is found in cerebrospinal fluid, Neisseria meningitidis can be highly suspected, and emergency treatment can be guided.

Assessing specimen quality and authenticity of infection: Microscopic examination to observe the presence of white blood cells and determine whether it is infection or contamination; If multiple bacteria are mixed, it indicates mixed infection or contamination.

Narrowing down the scope of strain identification: Combining staining results with colony morphology, the pathogenic bacteria are locked into the Gram genus, providing direction for subsequent biochemical identification.

Quick screening of sterile body fluids: Directly smear and stain sterile body fluids such as blood, joint fluid, and pleural and peritoneal fluids to quickly detect bacterial infections.
