Wholesale Price(RMB):

Product Code:PD-0601019
Product Usage:Suitable for the isolation and enrichment culture of fastidious bacteria (such as streptococci, staphylococci, and enterobacteria) and general bacteria.
Product Overview

【 Principle 】

Trypsin hydrolysate, pepsin hydrolysate, trypsin hydrolysate, and yeast extract provide nitrogen and carbon sources, vitamins, and amino acids; Starch can promote the growth of Neisseria and enhance the hemolytic properties of Streptococcus; Sodium chloride maintains a balanced osmotic pressure; Agar is a coagulant for culture media.

Main components

Composed of pancreatic casein hydrolysate, meat pepsin hydrolysate, trypsin hydrolysate, yeast extract, corn starch, sodium chloride, agar, and distilled water.

Clinical application scenarios

Clinical aseptic specimen isolation and culture: primary isolation of harsh bacteria and facultative anaerobic bacteria from sterile body fluids such as blood, cerebrospinal fluid, and pus, suitable for difficult to culture pathogenic bacteria such as Streptococcus and Neisseria.

Food pathogenic bacteria detection: isolation and purification of Listeria monocytogenes and Streptococcus pyogenes for preliminary screening of food poisoning traceability.

Purification and preservation of bacterial strains: Comprehensive nutrition, used for purifying bacterial strains, reviving fragile standard strains, and maintaining stable passage of bacterial strains.

Hemolysis test determination: After adding sheep blood, observe the alpha and beta hemolysis reactions to assist in the preliminary biochemical identification of Streptococcus and Listeria.

Hospital infection monitoring: respiratory tract and wound sampling and culture, screening for pathogenic bacteria such as Streptococcus pneumoniae and Staphylococcus aureus in hospital infections.

Introduction to the Relevant Microbiological Characteristics

Clostridium difficile

Biological characteristics: Gram positive Bacillus subtilis, strictly anaerobic, can form highly resistant spores;

The nutritional requirements are high, and Columbia agar is rich in nutrients that can support its growth. It requires an anaerobic environment and some require CO ₂ assistance;

Metabolism can produce gas, some strains are hemolytic, tolerant to adverse environments, mostly saprophytic or pathogenic anaerobic bacteria (Clostridium perfringens, Clostridium difficile, etc.).

Cultivation characteristics (anaerobic 35 ℃, 24-48h): The colonies are gray white, semi transparent, raised, and the edges can be neat or rough;

Clostridium perfringens often exhibits a beta hemolytic ring with transparent surroundings around the colony; Slow growth, requiring strict anaerobic conditions, unable to proliferate under aerobic conditions; Some bacterial colonies are flat and moist, accompanied by slight hemolysis or local turbidity of the culture medium.
