Product Overview

【 Principle 】

Potatoes provide various sources of nitrogen, carbon, and vitamins; Glucose provides energy; Crystal violet and chloramphenicol can inhibit the growth of other miscellaneous bacteria.

Main components

Composed of potatoes (extracted from which the extract powder is extracted), crystal violet, chloramphenicol, and distilled water.

Storage conditions and expiration date

Storage conditions: This product should be stored in a dark environment at 2-8 ℃.

Validity period: The unopened original packaging has a validity period of 3 months.

This product is a disposable product.

Clinical application scenarios

Selective enrichment of coconut toxin bacteria: used for enrichment of Burkholderia cocos in samples such as spoiled Tremella fuciformis and fermented corn.

Inhibition of bacterial interference: Gentian violet+bile salt inhibits Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, etc., and the target bacteria become dominant bacteria.

Repair damaged bacterial cells: Buffer system alleviates bacterial cell damage caused by refrigeration, heating, etc., and improves detection rate.

Traceability of food poisoning: Enriching coconut toxin bacteria in spoiled food and patient excreta to assist in tracing the origin of rice yeast acidosis.

Pre inoculation bacterial growth: After inoculation, it is necessary to transfer to a selective plate and confirm it with biochemical and toxin testing.

Introduction to the Relevant Microbiological Characteristics

Burkholderia cocos

Biological characteristics

G ⁻ short rod-shaped bacteria, flagella, motile, non spore and non capsule, facultative anaerobic; Rice fermentation bacteria produce two strong heat-resistant toxins, citric acid and toxin, which are difficult to destroy when boiled and can be lethal in trace amounts; Suitable for temperatures between 25-37 ℃, it is easy to reproduce in large quantities in spoiled fresh Tremella fuciformis, fermented corn, and potato products; The bacterial resistance is average, but the toxin is extremely stable; Tolerant to low concentrations of bile salts and bright green in GVC.

Cultivation characteristics (36 ℃, 18-24h)

Uniform turbidity, no black sediment, no gas production, no discoloration; Long term cultivation can result in a very light yellow color; Escherichia coli, Staphylococcus aureus, and other bacteria are strongly inhibited, and the target bacteria become the dominant bacterial group; The buffer system repairs damaged bacterial cells, making it less likely for low pollution and spoiled samples to be missed.
