【 Principle 】
Protein aging and yeast extract powder provide carbon and nitrogen sources as well as trace elements; Lactose is a fermentable sugar; Sodium chloride can maintain a balanced osmotic pressure; Gallbladder salt and crystal violet inhibit Gram positive bacteria, particularly Gram positive bacilli and fecal streptococcus; Neutral red is a pH indicator.
Main components
Composed of peptone, yeast extract, sodium chloride, lactose, bile salt 3, crystal violet, neutral red, agar, and distilled water.
Storage conditions and expiration date
Storage conditions: This product should be stored in a dark environment at 2-8 ℃.
Validity period: The unopened original packaging has a validity period of 3 months.
This product is a disposable product.
Quantitative detection of coliform bacteria in food: used for plate counting of coliform bacteria in samples such as dairy and meat products, and is a key indicator for evaluating the hygiene status of food.
Water quality and environmental hygiene monitoring: used to detect coliform bacteria in water samples such as drinking water and source water, as well as in food utensils and processing countertop smear samples, to assess water quality safety and environmental hygiene risks.
Colony identification and subsequent confirmation: The target colony appears purple red with a red bile salt precipitation ring around it. Typical bacterial colonies need to be selected and transferred to BGLB broth for confirmation of recurrence fermentation. Only when the gas production is positive can it be reported as a positive coliform group
Escherichia coli
Biological characteristics: Gram negative short rod-shaped bacteria with flagella, facultative anaerobic; Fermentation of lactose to produce acid and gas; Suitable growth temperature is 35-37 ℃.
Cultivation characteristics: Colony diameter ≥ 0.5mm, purple red or red colonies; There is a red bile salt precipitation ring around the colony.
citrobacter freundii
Biological characteristics: Gram negative bacteria with flagella, facultative anaerobic; Fermentation of lactose to produce acid and gas (relatively slow); Widely present in the environment and intestines.
Cultivation characteristics: The colonies are purple red or red colonies; May have a bile salt precipitation ring.
Enterobacter cloacae
Biological characteristics: Gram negative bacteria with flagella, facultative anaerobic; Fermentation of lactose to produce acid and gas; VP test positive (different from Escherichia coli).
Cultivation characteristics: The colonies are purple red or red colonies; May have a bile salt precipitation ring.
