【 Principle 】
Protein peptone, beef extract powder, and yeast extract powder provide nitrogen sources, vitamins, and growth factors; Glucose provides a carbon source; Sodium chloride provides high maintenance of equilibrium osmotic pressure; Sodium acetate and cysteine hydrochloride provide essential ions; Agar is a coagulant for culture media.
Main components
Composed of peptone, beef extract, yeast extract, glucose, soluble starch, cysteine hydrochloride, sodium chloride, sodium acetate, agar, and distilled water.
Storage conditions and expiration date
Storage conditions: This product should be stored in a dark environment at 2-8 ℃.
Validity period: The unopened original packaging has a validity period of 3 months.
This product is a disposable product.
Food microbiological testing: Selective anaerobic enrichment of Clostridium perfringens and Clostridium botulinum in meat products, canned goods, and dairy products to identify the risk of food poisoning.
Water quality and hygiene inspection: Enrichment of anaerobic clostridia in drinking water, sewage, and surface water is used as an indicator for screening fecal contamination in water bodies.
Microbial limit test for drugs: Chinese medicinal materials and topical preparations have increased bacterial growth before anaerobic pathogenic bacteria, meeting the requirements for anaerobic control bacteria testing in the pharmacopoeia.
Clinical pathogen detection: fecal and wound secretion samples are enriched with Clostridium difficile and Clostridium tetani to assist in the diagnosis of anaerobic bacterial infections.
Environmental risk monitoring: Sampling of soil, kitchen waste, and processing environment to trace the source of anaerobic pathogen pollution.
Clostridium perfringens
Biological characteristics: Gram positive Bacillus subtilis, anaerobic, spore forming, resistant to bile salts and antibacterial components in culture media, strong ability to ferment sugars, rapid gas production, widely present in water sources, food, and feces.
Cultivation characteristics: The liquid culture medium is significantly turbid, and a large amount of gas is produced, causing bubbles and flocculent precipitates to appear in the culture medium tube. The broth culture medium may exhibit turbulent fermentation.
Clostridium botulinum
Biological characteristics: Gram positive anaerobic bacteria with oval shaped spores resembling tennis rackets, strictly anaerobic, capable of producing highly toxic botulinum toxin, and resistant to selective inhibitors.
Cultivation characteristics: The culture medium is slightly to moderately turbid, with a small amount of gas production, fine sediment, and no obvious vigorous gas production. An anaerobic environment is required for stable proliferation.
Tetanus Clostridium
Biological characteristics: Gram positive strictly anaerobic bacteria, with round and drum shaped spores, weak invasion, producing spasmodic toxins, and only reproducing in anaerobic necrotic tissue environments.
Cultivation characteristics: The liquid is slightly turbid, the gas production is weak, the bacterial sediment is loose, and the growth rate is slow.
Clostridium difficile
Biological characteristics: Gram positive anaerobic bacteria, spore producing, strong drug resistance, pathogenic bacteria under intestinal conditions, tolerant to selective antibacterial agents in culture medium.
Cultivation characteristics: The culture medium is turbid, with a grayish white sediment at the bottom and minimal gas production. Strict anaerobic treatment is required for growth.
