Product Overview

【 Principle 】

Protein peptone, beef extract, yeast extract, and glucose provide the necessary carbon and ammonia sources, vitamins, and growth factors for bacterial growth; Tween-80, sodium acetate, phosphate, triammonium citrate, magnesium salts, and manganese salts provide various growth factors required by lactic acid bacteria, while also inhibiting the growth of bacteria other than lactic acid bacteria; Mopirocin lithium salt inhibits other lactic acid bacteria besides Bifidobacterium; Agar is a coagulant.

Main components

Composed of peptone, beef extract, yeast extract, glucose, dipotassium dihydrogen phosphate, Tween-80, magnesium sulfate, manganese sulfate agar, triammonium citrate, sodium acetate, pirocin lithium hydrochloride, cysteine hydrochloride, and distilled water.

Storage conditions and expiration date

Storage conditions: This product should be stored in a dark environment at 2-8 ℃.

Validity period: The unopened original packaging has a validity period of 3 months.

This product is a disposable product.

Clinical application scenarios

Count of Bifidobacterium in Food: Quantitative detection of viable Bifidobacterium in foods such as yogurt and probiotic powder.

Distinguishing miscellaneous lactic acid bacteria: Mopirocin lithium salt inhibits lactobacilli and streptococci, improving counting accuracy.

Adapting to anaerobic requirements: Cysteine creates a reducing environment to ensure the normal proliferation of bifidobacteria.

Quality inspection of health products: Factory inspection of probiotic preparations to determine whether the live bacterial count meets the standards.

Intestinal sample screening: Separation of Bifidobacterium from feces for the study of gut microbiota.

Fermentation traceability: Separation of swollen bags and samples with abnormal flavors to determine the survival and contamination of bifidobacteria.

Purification of single bacterial colonies: Select typical bacterial colonies to obtain pure bacterial strains for biochemical and molecular identification.

Introduction to the Relevant Microbiological Characteristics

Used for counting bifidobacteria in food containing active lactic acid bacteria. Bifidobacterium

Biological characteristics: G ⁺ polymorphic bacillus, Y-shaped, V-shaped, forked, without spores, flagella, or motility; Strictly anaerobic, aerobic does not grow; Fermented sugars produce lactic acid and acetic acid, with strong acid resistance and natural tolerance to mupirocin; Beneficial bacteria inherent in human and animal intestines, commonly found in probiotic preparations and fermented dairy products; Regulating gut microbiota, belonging to probiotics.

Cultivation characteristics (strictly anaerobic at 37 ℃, 48-72 hours): small colonies, milky white/porcelain white, round protrusions, smooth and moist, growing slower than lactobacilli; Lactobacillus and Streptococcus were inhibited by mupirocin; Large intestine, Salmonella, etc. are doubly inhibited by bile salts and low pH; Fungi and yeast do not grow.
